Welcome to the Speakeasy

Make your way through the bustling Wick Inn on the corner of Western & Holland Road, squeeze through the crowds, climb the spiral staircase and emerge in the 1920s where drinking is illegal and bars are intimate, atmospheric gatherings of like minded people..

We only take bookings Friday and Saturday for private hire of groups of 30 and over.

Taking inspiration from America's prohibition era, The Wick have revamped their top floor and created The Speakeasy, second home to a classy, decadent crowd enjoying their haunts a little more interesting than Hove's usual stomping grounds.

Charmingly authentic with candlelit tables, cosy booths and twenties jazz crackling across the crowds, this mischievous, elusive hideaway is perfect for a late night beverage. Post-war artwork adorns the walls, jam packed drinks cabinets invite your curiosity and the slick bar-tending keeps those drinks flowing in true blind pig style!

The Speakeasy bar is open every Friday and Saturday night from 7pm, but you're welcome to enjoy its surroundings all through the week with a drink from the bar downstairs or some of the fabulous authentic Thai food.

The Speakeasy is the perfect venue with a difference, whether you're a couple wanting a well crafted cocktail at the bar, or a group on a night out, soaking up the relaxed, sophisticated vibes in one of the many booths.

Taking bookings for 4 to 40 people, you can be sure it'll be a night to remember.

So if you're after a naughty 1920s night, full of taboo and exclusivity, take a jaunt upstairs at The Wick and drink secretly with the elite. Assuming you know the password of course....
